Stphils charity is a charity aimed at the welfare of the community with a special emphasis on the needs of children that have been abandoned or neglected due to one or more parent being unemployed and unable to feed or clothe or educate their own children. Stphils is a registered non profit organization operating in the Durban area and is registered as a community development centre.
Stphils as the name implies is a religion based charity organization that functions in as many ways as possible in order to both generate the maximum amount of funds needed to maintain its role within the community as well as maintain a wide a scope as possible as far as active community based charity work is concerned.
The General Overview Of Stphils
Stphils consists mainly of a community and hospitality centre, the community side of Stphils focuses most of its energy on the welfare of children within the immediate community by offering a day care facility that seeks to help the children of the community as much as is humanly possible. This manifests in the form of education and stimulation through interactive play and learning programmes.
Another aspect is the feeding of the community children as well as organizing events that promote community spirit and well being. Stphils attempts to do its very best to keep marginal schooling fees to a minimum in order to make it as affordable to as many families within the immediate community as is possible.
This is generally achieved by enrolling a limited number of children, usually around thirty plus per year. There are also additional activities that are arranged such as swimming lesson and artistic activities such as pottery and so on but unfortunately due to the nature of these activities they cost extra.
Lastly Stphils is a hospitality centre and features a number of accommodation options that are as affordable as is realistically possible. This accommodation consists of and includes cottages that house over ten people, flats that can accommodate around four people as well as mini flats which are designed for two.
